What's in my Garden: Cilantro
Published June 26, 2026
Cilantro is a fun herb for me, it’s one I only discovered in my adult life and I love adding it to everything. The taste is so fresh and crisp so I love what it can do to any recipe.
Recipes
I especially love it in my Rhubarb Salsa, it pairs very well with the tart rhubarb.
Health Benefits
According to Heath.com, cilantro can help lower anxiety, manage blood sugars and help with weight management. It’s also rich in antioxidants and vitamins.
Growing tips for cilantro
Direct sow outside in full sun around the end of the frost season. My grandfather always said after the full moon in June the risk of frost was over (I’m in Nova Scotia).
Thinly cover the seeds with soil and keep moist.
