I’m Nicole, a self-proclaimed homesteader living in the lush West Hants, Nova Scotia, Canada. 🍁
I’m on a journey to embrace homesteading slowly and creating more whimsy in my life, I recently felt like I won the game of life. I’d been ‘climbing the corporate ladder’ and checking all the boxes we are told to. I had the house, the job, the car, the lifestyle… And could not have been more exhausted. The prize for winning the game was burnout.
I’ve decided to take the summer off and making my full time job working for myself and my home. While working for myself, I’ve rediscovered my love for writing, which inspired me to breathe new life into this poor old blog.
I started CreatingWithNicole.com in 2017 as a creative outlet for reviews and recipes and now it’s evolving into my cozy little corner of the internet where I share recipes, homesteading adventures, DIY crafts, the odd review of books or small grocery products and now with a splash of healing through creativity.

My style is a mix of cottagecore whimsy, and elder emo (never forget where you came from).
Cooking with seasonal ingredients is one of my favorite ways to get creative, and I love experimenting with new recipes that celebrate the flavors of each season.
I’m not a professional, but I’m learning every day, and I hope my journey inspires you to try something new too.
At the heart of it all, I’m here to embrace a slower life so I can find joy in the little things again.
